The Mirror Progress

Decided to do some practice painting via photoshop. I haven't played with many of the brushes so I figured this was a good exercise. Here's a progess shot of what I have so far. Still got a lot of work to do and more layers to add but looking good so far.

I finished The Ghost King. You can find the finished piece here. Please note; the watermark gave it an ugly line which does nto appear on the original piece.

Ghost King Process 2

So, orange it was. I'm glad that it didn't look bad, cause I really wanted to put him in a camp shirt. I still have to decorate though. Now that I have everything colored I can add all the cool stuff =D

Ghost King Process

All right my Meisters. I figure I could tease you all with a process image of The Ghost King. I'm still debating whether or not to put him in an orange camp half-blood shirt. It is, Post Last Olympian Nico... his opinion on the camp may be different. Still, I'm not sure it's Nico-ish. AH well. You know I'll probably end up putting him in a brooding color anyway. Still playing around with the shadow aura I wanna do, but it was difficult without having the color down first. I know... it's probably not for most, but it's hard for me to create this aura space without a sense of color.

The Ghost King

Sooo after doing some practices with my tablet, I used all the shiiiiiit I learned in my recent class and ended up with this. My interpretation of an older Nico di Angelo from the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series. I still need to figure out how to draw the background I'm picturing in my head. I'm not sure what kind of line work I wanna go with if any at all, but I hope to have the either ghosts or shadow radiating from his sword. I'll update whenever I get it done. =DDD

The Begining

So this is me getting started on this thing. Like any artist, starting out is rough. I can only hope that my journey turns out to be less chaotic than most assume it's going to be. Assuming you know hardly anything about me I suppose an introduction is in order, yes? I am Yuri Meister. A nick name that just seemed all too perfect for the interwebs given to me by a dear friend. I'm an Illustration Major and Sequential Minor at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I draw a great deal of inspiration from Bruce Timm, Todd Nauck, Don Bluth, Glean Klene to just name a few. My number one ambition in life is to get my own super hero out in the publishing world. Next in line I'd like to Illustrate, color, or ink a cover for DC Comics.

So, until next time; Live long and Prosper.
